Forward Madison will be setting up a Pink Giving Tree outside of Breese Stevens Field as a fundraising event to benefit The River Food Pantry. From December 10th though the 22nd, there will be $10 ornaments available for purchase through the Team Store (both in-person and online), as well as donation bins for non-perishable food items. Proceeds from the ornaments will be going to the River Food Pantry, and the ornaments will be hung on the pink tree outside of Breese. Ornaments will be available for purchase in-person during normal store hours or online anytime.
In addition to the ornament sales, there will be a Holiday Party at the team store on December 17th from 4-6pm. All friends and fans are invited to socialize and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.
The holiday party will kick off a weekend-long donation drive, where fans who bring a non-perishable food item to donate will receive a 10% discount off of a purchase that weekend. There will be donation bins during store hours from December 10th until the 22nd, but the team store will be open on the 17th from 2-6pm and 18th from 11am-2pm for donations + 10% off your purchase.
“We’re thrilled to help support The River Food Pantry during their busiest time of the year,” said Director of Digital Content Evan Warwick. “Fan support of this initiative will provide essential meals during the holiday season for members of our community in need.”
The River Food Pantry is local to Madison and is the busiest food pantry in all of Dane County:
The River serves over 1,000 Dane County families per week, sharing over 50 thousand pounds of food every seven days, or about 2.7 million pounds of food each year. Over $1 million worth of clothing, furniture and household items are distributed annually. We also serve nearly 800 hot meals each week and currently distribute over 400 mobile packed lunches on each non-school day.
