Forward Madison FC (8-4-5)
Head Coach: Matt Glaeser
South Georgia Tormenta FC (6-8-3)
Head Coach: Ian Cameron
Key Players to Watch:
Derek Gebhard: With his speed and technique, we can expect to see Gebhard creating many opportunities on Wednesday. With his ability to attack and defend well, Gebhard will be a key player for the ‘Mingos on Wednesday.
Stephen Payne: Tied for first place for number of assists for the ‘Mingos this season, Payne is known for creating some of Forward Madison’s best opportunities. We can expect to see him flying up and down the right side of the pitch, contributing his talents on both the offensive and defensive side of the game.
Nazeem Bartman: Scoring many goals recently, we can expect to see Bartman putting even more away on Wednesday. With his ability to get to the right place at the right time, we often see Bartman receive the ball in dangerous areas of the field and capitalize on opportunities.
Key Match-up:
Forward Madison FC offense vs South Georgia Tormenta FC offense
With both teams close in goals scored this season, we will see both teams’ offenses going head to head trying to capitalize on all opportunities. With Tormenta having 25 goals against as opposed to Forward Madison’s 14, we can expect to see some of the best opportunities in the game coming from the Flamingos.
Keys to the Match:
- Finishing: Both teams have created lots of opportunities, but the team who is able to capitalize will be much more successful in the match. Rather than just shooting to shoot, the teams will need to be technical and composed in order to finish.
- Defense starting higher on the pitch: If the teams can defend as a unit rather than just the defensive line, they will be much more successful. If all lines are able to help on defense, it will be much harder for the opposing team to break lines.
Previous and Next Match:
The Flamingos come into this match after a 2-2 tie on the road against North Carolina FC. Next up, Forward Madison will remain at home to face Greenville Triumph SC on Saturday, July 29th, at 7pm CT.
