Salcido to take photos and sign autographs with fans before the 5pm match
MADISON, WI : Forward Madison FC announced today that former Mexican professional soccer player Carlos Salcido will be making an appearance at the Saturday, September 30th USL League One match against Lexington SC. Salcido will meet with MG&E’s Día de Fútbol camp participants at 3pm, followed by photos and autographs with FMFC fans in attendance from 4pm-4:50pm. Photos and autographs will be on a first-come-first-serve basis and complimentary for all fans inside Breese Stevens Field.
Salcido began his career with Guadalajara in Mexico before becoming a mainstay in the PSV Eindhoven squad in the Netherlands. Playing in the World Cup for Mexico and the UEFA Champions League for Eindhoven, Salcido quickly became a fan-favorite among Mexican soccer fans. Following a good performance at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Salcido made a big transfer to Fulham in England. His first assist as part of the Fulham squad was scored by American legend Clint Dempsey. Salcido would eventually return to Mexico, playing for Tigres UANL, Guadalajara, and ending his career with Veracruz.
