Forward Madison FC announced today that Cyrus Rad and Taner Dogan will join the squad for the remainder of the season, pending league and federation approval. Dogan is loaned from Dundalk FC of the Ireland Premier Division.
Rad played his college soccer at NC State, where he graduated in 2021. Prior to playing at NC State, Rad played club soccer in North Carolina at NC Fusion and North Carolina Alliance Academy. Rad’s primary position is central defender. Rad is also currently going for his Master’s Degree at NC State for electrical engineering.
Rad first came to Madison for the squad’s match against Atletico Morelia and described the atmosphere as “…absolutely amazing. The Flock End’s support was tangible and you can really feel the support from the entire community as a player.”
Dogan joins the club on loan for the remainder of the season from Dundalk in the Ireland Premier Division. Dogan joined Dundalk after graduating from Harvard, where he was captain of the squad his senior year. Dogan was loaned to Athlone Town A.F.C of the Ireland First Division this past year. Dogan is a versatile player who mostly plays as a midfielder.
Dogan is looking forward to helping the Flamingos push towards the playoffs and says that the “energy that the fans have here is special and something super important to the success of the club.”
