Forward Madison FC will be hosting their 2nd Round Matchup in the U.S. Open Cup at Breese Stevens Field. The match date and time are still yet to be determined, but it will either be April 5th, 6th, or 7th. FMFC will play host to the winner of the 1st Round Matchup between Cleveland SC and Chicago FC United.
Single-game tickets will go on sale Friday, February 18th at 10 am, while season ticket holders will have the game included in their 2022 packages.
Cleveland SC and Chicago FC United will face off March 23rd with the winner headed to Breese for a Round 2 matchup. Cleveland SC plays in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and Chicago FC United plays in the USL League 2.
The U.S. Open Cup is set to return this year after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic. The Open Cup is a single-elimination men’s soccer tournament between American clubs in professional soccer leagues. Clubs from Major League Soccer, USL Championship, USL League One, National Independent Soccer Association, USL League Two, NPSL, the United States Adult Soccer Association, and US Club Soccer are all able to participate in the competition. The last winner came in 2020, when Atlanta United hoisted the 106th U.S. Open Cup trophy.
